I often wanted to read some hindi newspaper in my HTC Wildfire which runs on Android 2.2(Froyo). But whenever i open any hindi newspaper website, it only shows box box and box... i.e. Android devices do not support Hindi Fonts.
Here i am showing the method by which these Unicode / Hindi Fonts can be read:
1. Download the latest version of Opera Mini browser from Android Market.
2. Open Opera Mini and type "opera:config" on the address bar and press Enter.
3. Scroll down, on "Use bitmap fonts for complex scripts", select "Yes" and press the "Save".
Now you can read almost all Brahmic or Indic scripts such as Hindi, Gujarati, Malayalam...etc. through Opera Mini.
